CUBO is for senior managers in higher education with responsibility for a university’s commercial business: the directors and future directors of accommodation, catering, conferencing, sport and other commercial services. See our membership categories below for full details.

At CUBO we:

  • Help members to deliver excellence by sharing experience and best practice.
  • Champion best practice and reward innovation at the CUBO Awards
  • Represent members’ interests to and on national bodies including UHS, VenueMasters, the UUK Code, the ANUK Code, BFP
  • Run two CUBO national conferences per year.
  • Run sub-groups providing free training and networking in marketing, finance, training and quality assurance and residence life.
  • Offer special rates on UHS training courses.
  • Work closely with other associations and major suppliers and commercial partners of behalf of our members.
  • Promote opportunities for international exchange and learning for members through associations such as ACUHO-I and Class of 2020.
  • Provide news, guidance and easy access to industry information.
  • Opportunities to contribute to consultations, initiatives and research.

Two types of membership

  • Primary Member - The main member for a Higher Education Insitution.
  • Member - Nominated by the Primary Member they have all the same rights with the exception of being able to vote at the CUBO Business Meetings.

Both Member Categories

Access to members' only area of CUBO Website, including access to all members' contact details and the ability to initiate surveys of the membership.
Eligible to attend CUBO National Conferences. (2 per year)
Eligible to join, or select staff to join special interest groups (eg Finance Group, Marketing Group, Training and Quality Group.)
May represent CUBO interests at any level.
Participate in and receive CUBO benchmarking and statistical Information.
Eligible to become member of CUBO Executive by application and election.
