Richard scoops ACUHO-I award

The Association of College and University Housing Officers – International (ACUHO-I) recently presented CUBO Executive member, Richard Kington, with the 2014 Roelf Visser Global Initiatives Award.

Richard was instrumental in CUBO becoming an ACUHO-I affiliate in 2010 and is credited with further growing the association’s international membership.

The Roelf Visser Global Initiatives Award honours his contribution to growing international links and furthering the strategic initiatives of ACUHO-I.

Richard has been director of accommodation services at the University of Edinburgh for 11 years and a supporter of ACUHO-I for much of that time by attending numerous activities and initiatives including the annual conference, the ACUHO-I Global Housing Summit, and several study tours.

Richard’s own experiences with ACUHO-I has enabled the University of Edinburgh to significantly expand and develop its residence life activities, support, and programs. Recruitment of residence life professionals from the United States was an important part of that development. The university continues to evolve its residence life activities, helped significantly by the many opportunities he and his team have had to engage with ACUHO-I and its members.

Richard was presented the award during the 2014 ACUHO-I Annual Conference & Exposition.
