International learning – seize the opportunity!

Research shows that the UK is the most recommended destination by international students (Universities UK, June 2016).  This article looks at how HE commercial services professionals can gain valuable insights into other cultures in a bid to attract international students.

CUBO has long standing relationships with a number of like-minded associations around the globe creating many opportunities to share and learn. This mutual co-operation benefits the members of all associations and the students at their institutions.

US - ACUHO-I (Association of College and University Housing Officers – International)

CUBO has strong links with ACUHO-I in the US. In 2014-15, over 16,000 students came to the UK from the US. For those institutions looking to learn more about the student experience in the US, joining ACHUO-I is must.

ACUHO-I aims to develop exceptional residential experiences at universities around the world. The association provides a range of services to members including events, research, professional development and networking opportunities.

For CUBO members who also join ACUHO-I, there is a fantastic opportunity to win a place at the ACUHO-I Annual Conference and Exposition taking place 17-20 June 2017, in Rhode Island. The winner of the New Professional Award is jointly funded by CUBO and ACHUO-I to travel to the US and attend the four-day conference.
