CUBO International Study Tour & Summer Conference 2017                

 

23 June - 29 June 2017

 

The CUBO international study tour welcomes operators of University accommodation & catering services from across the globe. The programme offers the opportunity for international delegates to visit a range of University accommodation and catering facilities within the UK and learn from a range of professionals. The study tour concludes with delegates joining the CUBO Summer Conference at the University of Kent. 

 

Programme

 

Friday 23 June

Arrive in London and check into accommodation at London School of Economics, Bankside (please arrive for 11am).

Lunch and welcome meeting

Presentation: Business and Student Life at the London School of Economics, followed by a tour of the buildings.

Visit to Urbanest Building at Westminster Bridge - unique accommodation offer in central London. 

Evening: Dinner at The Palace of Westminster

A unique and once in a lifetime opportunity to attend an exclusive dinner created for the CUBO study group at The Palace of Westminster.  This is a dinner experience that is not available to the general public.

 

Saturday 24 June

Tour of UNITE Accommodation, a range of first class student facilities within London.

Presentation: “Meeting the Accommodation Needs of Students in London and Beyond” presented by Kevin Williamson, University Partnership Manager at UNITE Students

Evening: Dinner at The Mayflower Pub

 

Sunday 25 June

Visit King's College London.

Presentation: "Residence Life" presented by Paloma Lisboa, Head of Residences, King's College.

Presentation: "Residence Hall with Kitchen for 480" presented by Richard Kingston, Director Accommodation, Catering & Events.

Lunch: Traditional British Sunday Roast Lunch followed by free time to explore London

Evening: Twilight Performance at Shakespear's Globe Theatre 

A unique London experience with an opportunity to enjoy Romeo & Juliet in a setting similar to the one an audience in the early 1600’s would probably recognise.

 

Monday 26 June

Breakfast

Depart LSE with luggage.

Our Study Tour Bus will take the group to the University of Cambridge to visit St John's College.

An an exciting opportunity to experience both traditional and more modern facilities offered to students at a world class institution.  

 

Presentation: "Food Service and Commercial Business" presented by Bill Brogan, Catering and Conference Manager.

Depart on tour bus at approximately 2.30pm for University of Kent to join the CUBO Summer Conference for 3 nights

Evening: Meal at the University of Kent with the CUBO Executive and Sponsors of the CUBO Summer Conference.

 

Tuesday 27 June

Tour of the University of Kent looking at accommodation and food service.

Lunch

CUBO Summer Conference commences.

Evening:  Social and dinner at Whitstable beach

 

Wednesday 28 June

CUBO Summer Conference programme.

Evening: Gala DInner and CUBO Awards (dress code is black tie /evening wear)

 

Thursday 29 June

CUBO Conference concludes at 1pm and delegates depart.

 

Fees

£780.00 (+ £156.00 VAT)

The fee includes accommodation from Friday 23 June to Wednesday 28 June (6 nights.) All lunches & evening dinners are included. Most breakfasts are also provided throughout the study tour.

Travel back to London airports after the conference in Kent is not included in the package and will need to be arranged at delegates own cost.
